Louise is an award-winning designer, publisher and gardener based in Bath.

An engagement with place lies central to her endeavours. As a writer and photographer, assignments over the last decade have taken her as far afield as Japan’s Iya Valley and the Icelandic Eastfjords, with work published in titles such as the Financial Times, National Geographic and World of Interiors. In recent years her focus turned to the Nordic landscape and its growers, gardeners and makers: covering stories including botany in the Norwegian arctic and Helsinki’s agricultural hinterlands.

In 2025, Louise made the professional shift into horticulture and landscape design. Alongside the necessary qualifications, a year in the garden at Christ Church (Oxford), and six months at Middle Temple Garden (London) cemented her horticultural practice. She continues to draw lessons from a life in the garden and a childhood around the farm, from travels to landscapes near and far, and is continually coaxed back onto the allotment.

Louise is the Creative Director of Linseed Journal: an independent print publication sitting at the confluence of culture and nature. To date, Linseed’s over 100 contributors to date have hailed from six continents. The publication is distributed internationally.
